OK, so after deleting one year's worth (out of five) of pending orders, AC appears to be working better and a bit faster. Installing Foxit Reader I think also helped. However, now when I click on any website that has a .pdf extension, I get the "Page Cannot Be Displayed Error". I can view pdf's in the Foxit Browser just fine if they are saved on my hard drive. Any thoughts on what might cause this behavior?? I didn't want to change too many settings on Foxit, out of fear that it may create problems with viewing PDFs embedded in AC... Thanks

Hi Luis,

It matters what browser and what version of Foxit you are having problems with the error. You might want to post that to get better advice from the gurus.

You might want to start a google search by filling in what you have inside my parentheses: (Name and Version of your browser), Foxit Reader version (the number here), problems

Something like: Internet Explorer version 9, Foxit Reader 4.2, problems

If not helpful, try uninstalling and reinstalling Foxit.

If not helpful, try uninstalling and installing earlier version of Foxit.

If not helpful, try copying the Registry for Foxit, if same windows version, on a computer that is working correctly without the error, if you have one.

If not helpful, take a vacation. You deserve it.

You'll likely need to set the system default.

As Dan pointed out, it would be very useful if we knew what Operating System (e.g. Win Xp, Win 7) and browser (chrome, Firefox, IE) you are using.

I'm using IE 11 on a Windows Pro 8.1 64 bit machine. Foxit reader was the very latest download/installation.

Hi Luis,

For what it's worth, I'm not having any problems with Adobe reader on my Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit machines.

Anyway, you might want to send an email to support at foxitsoftware.com. I see from their technical FAQs #71 found at
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/support/faq_reader.php
that they have a way of making it work with Foxfire and Chrome. Probably working on it for IE 11, but I don't want to discourage you from reaching out to them. Most IT guys try what they think might be the problem, and if it doesn't work, call support.

I don't use IE 11 and I don't have Win 8, but my bet is that you need to set Foxit as the default pdf reader for the browser.
It should be easy enough to find out how to do that with IE11/Win8.

Thanks everyone for the input; I did indeed go in and make sure that foxit was set as the default reader (both via IE options as well as Foxit options), to no avail. I went ahead and sent an email to their support desk, so I guess we'll see what happens...

Adobe (including Acrobat Pro) was crashing frequently with AC, so I'm trying to hold off on going back to it unless absolutely necessary..

Did you try setting Foxit with all its defaults in the Default Programs section of the control panel?

I'll try that; I hadn't done that, although essentially this has been occurring since my first use of the product, and I hadn't really changed any settings; will update after trying

Sandeep, I'm not seeing anywhere in Foxit Reader's preferences to "Restore System Defaults"... any pointers as to how to get this done?

Disregard..... I figured it out.
Under Document preferences, the tab for "In Web browser, display PDF in Read Mode by Default" was unchecked. I checked the box, and it is working fine. Thanks anyways, though!
