I just discovered a bug in program. My MA put in vital signs on the laptop. I go, forget to close her login and open mine, so here I am typing in the the note. I printed out the prescription and out comes a prescription with my MA name on it as the signature. Is this normal or shold this be correct?

I don't think thats a bug. I think the program is made so that whoever's name an Rx is written under, that name will appear on the Rx. So if I sign on and write an Rx, it has my name on it and not the doctors. You have to make sure that the chart is forwarded to you so that you open it up under your name.

Greetings:

Also look at the preveliges granted to MA in your admin screen. An MA should not have preveliges for prescription, it should be set at MA level. Only licensed prescriber should have full preveliges.

Regards.

I'm not sure that he has the option. I'm not a licensed prescriber, but it still lets me do it(and puts my name on it). I would rather that it didn't let me in the first place. So, maybe it is a bug in that it shouldn't let non-licensed prescribers prescribe medications. Let's our MA do it also.

rather than a bug, it would be better to be able to forward it to the licensed prescriber, as occurs with the encounter. I would also like to see this for letters, addendums, orders, requisistions, as well as scripts.

There is too many places where the prescriber/practitioner needs to enter all the info in order for it to show the proper signature.
