or more specifically, how much would you pay per month to stay with AC?

Presently, AC is free to maintain, but $995 yearly per provider for guardian support, which is $83/month. (I suppose some could fore-go paying for support, but in the season of ICD-10, I wouldn't recommend it.)

MEDfx is $298/month, for hosted or local installation, which is 3.6 times the price for AC. That's just not right that the PM is worth that much more than the EHR. This only makes sense if Pri-Med bought MEDfx. So that got me thinking about the competition, and the search was very interesting. The other EHRs that I was considering 18 months ago were eClinicalWorks and eMDs. Look at their present pricing.

http://www.eclinicalworks.com/products-pricing.htm

http://www.e-mds.com/products/bundles

Notice that both want monthly payments. Does anyone doubt that this is where AC is going, especially since there is not the option to purchase MEDfx like you can MediSoft, Medware,TotalMD etc.?

Notice the pricing. Assuming a cost for MEDfx of $298/month as the cost of the PM (, the ehr component of eClinicalWorks is $300/month while for eMDs it is $100/month. How do those relative prices strike you for the value received?

If anyone has data on pricing for other EHR/PM combos please chime in.

So again, what is AC worth/month to you?

Don't forget the fully integrated PM from MEDfx will be more like $498 a month. Unless you purchase the $298 a month to lock in that price.

My main reason for starting this thread is that to me AC is going to get more expensive under Pri-Med with serial increases in fees. Also, that the relative cheapness of AC in the past is Pri-Med's main reason for acquiring AC, since it will allow for a profitable return on investment while putting money into development. Of course, my crystal ball is cloudy.

Given the price structures that the big, established companies are rolling out, I can't imagine anyone would want to pay anywhere near $500/mo for Amazing Charts. Sorry to say, but the functionality of AC, along with the hiccups and quirks, maybe justifies....$200/mo, all inclusive. That's my guess.

If AC insists upon superimposing even a $300/mo fee for the PM alone, I predict that JamesNT is going to be very busy converting AC db data to (insert competing EMR software here) going forward.

The PM will be significantly more than $300. That is why if you are going to use it, you want to buy now and lock in the price.

Just a question. When was the last time AC increased their prices?

Bert -- trick question? If you didn't buy yesterday, AC raised prices today:
