Leslie, I had seen the 379 dollar price the morning I posted a while back, and was going to seal the deal later that day. My wife does the transient credit card thing, which I haven't figured out how to do so you can max out a certain amount, but the deal dissipated. So then I waited for the supposed lowest prices on Tuesday phenomena, which did not occur, and then for the last 10 days the gas prices started going up around here so I just bit the bullet. So now Murphy's Law thing, I am sure the prices will dip so you better look. If you need any help with the stock market, just do the complete opposite of whatever I do and you will be fine.

Actually, Jimmie, I was hoping you and your wife and the VWWagon would somehow miraculously show up on my doorstep and out you would jump and yell "ROAD TRIP!!" Wonder if the Hilton has a dump station?

When we see you in SD, you will have to ask Lisa about the "stress test" trip I put the Vanagon through after I got it running again after it sat for a decade and the gas turned to turpentine.
Elements of that trip included, Charles Kuralt famed most beautiful drive in America, an 11,000 foot pass, possible bed bugs, CV joint failure and I think but not sure, the guy who played the banjo in Deliverance.

Maybe I'll get lucky and the next conference will be on the East Coast.
Myrtle Beach. Virginia Beach. All nice beaches.

Alright - book some time by the firepit for Lisa & Jim - this is a story right up there with chasing the mayor of a certain Asian city with a shotgun.

Indy, Last night Dr. Mel and I bludgeoned a gaggle (around 25-30) of Montana docs from the MMA (Montana Medical Association) with our wit and desire to partake of the prime rib, at their leadership conference. We put a good word in for AC, Updox and our IT guy! So, if you are desperate for a dastardly duo to present anything in San Diego, we are like a well honed machine. Your humble and obedient servant,

I just figured that when Jim and Mel go to San Diego, the doc taking call for them would be covering the whole state.

Well they were asking strange questions, such as do you have your burial plot ready, cost comparison with traditional method versus cremation, so forth and so on....
I bet Dr Mel had us at the Montana Mortuary Association conference.

I just figured that when Jim and Mel go to San Diego, the doc taking call for them would be covering the whole state. Jon, When I ran the above numbers I was very surprised to see the similarity in inhabitants per physician in both states. I never thought I would say this, but with the low population density, and # of inhabitants per physician, telemedicine or video conferencing over a HIPAA compliant modality in a state like Montana, I think is overdue. I have patients drive over 200 miles to make an appt, and I prefer to see in flesh and blood, however, summer lasting about a month up here, often time makes access to the doc quite difficult, especially for the patients living in those areas with less than 6 people per square mile. So I would be interested in formal or nonformal discussions about this issue, and also how we as physicians need to start dictating our own destiny, and implementing solutions when there appear to be no solutions at all. I think the ICD 10 conversion in October is manageable, but just about a week ago, I was not sure how until Donna threw out a rope, I had not seen, but talking through these issues in San Diego, I think can be helpful to all involved. I am getting excited about the upcoming trip, and need a break from the routine, and will readily be a listener, but will gladly contribute if called upon. But most importantly we have to find a place to enjoy some gelato!!!

Jim, Those results surprised me, too. If you were trying to point out that we are very dense out here, I would agree. I think our proximity to DC is the explanation.
We too are looking forward to worthwhile and enjoyable discussion, warm weather, and cold gelato.
