I've sent these bugs to tech support via help/report bug utility. Moving from version 6.0 to 6.6.1 has created a number of frustrating bugs. 1. Relationship of patient to responsible party must be established anew for each patient. Often, randomly, the responsible party's name has bee changed from [first name] [last name] e,g, Will Smith, to [first name] [first name] e.g. Will Will and must be reset. 2. There seem to be two separate places where relationship has to be entered. The responsible party is ALWAYS shown to be the CHILD of the patient, and must be corrected. 3. Splitting of demographic page into 2 parts is cumbersome and the navigation within these is obscure and poorly thought out. The above was a rant!! Please feel free to add additional problems you've encountered. Perhaps someone is reading who can effect a change!!

Passing along some information for those considering the 6.6.1 upgrade.
We did our first production upgrade at client direction this last weekend, and they are unhappy with the changes on the billing side, and while we are looking with AC for work-arounds, they are considering going back to 6.3.3 this weekend.
<>There is no tool for going back to earlier versions - you are stuck with 6.6 unless you want to go back to your last known good back-up prior to upgrade.
<>You will need to restore the "AC Server" to a restore point before the upgrade. You CANNOT just uninstall/reinstall, as the install makes ~1000 registry/DLL changes that are not reversed. The other option is to reinstall the server OS.
<>The new version of SQL Server consumes considerably more memory than previous versions. Our observations are 3+ times as much.
Sometimes being professionally paranoid pays off, as we have a full image of their environment prior to upgrade that we can revert to, but otherwise we would have to go to a restore point.
We hear that some folks are happy with the upgrade, but users should go in knowing there is no easy way back.

Upgraded to 6.6.1 in the Cloud. So far no issues. The upgrade was incredibly simple--I talked to the tech on the phone. An hour later she called me and said it was all set. That's it. Still trying to figure out about insurance migration and the new features.

We are having major billing issues 6.6.1.
I discourage upgrade until these issues are resolved. Cant reconcile, migration allows staff to add inactive insurances etc.
We have not been able to bill since upgrading over last weekend.
We may have to pay to roll back to 6.3 and to repopulate 6.3. Major concern until patch or fix done.

Has anyone upgraded to 6.63? I noticed that this is the latest version now available on the client upgrade link. Are the billing issues fixed?

When I went to the download site, I only saw 6.6.2 build 120, where did you find 6.6.3?

I'll admit I had a double-take, and went to check myself. John has a special queue apparently. The billing question is complex, and I can say this much confidently as I had AC confirm it yesterday on a Con-call. If you expect billing to work in the same fashion as it did in 6.3.3, you will be disappointed/frustrated or worse. Because this had a very adverse effect in the one practice that chose to upgrade (they use AC billing functionality) - they eventually did a hard roll-back. We are doing the forensic analysis, and we are considering doing a video package for clients so they understand the changes and the impacts in the new versions.

I've upgraded to the latest version this last week and have noticed that after I have entered the diagnosis, if I go to order a lab test, xray or procedure, the diagnosis does not appear on the printed order sheet. Any ideas?

I have had the same thing happen. For some reason the diagnosis boxes above have to be checked off before writing the order. I think they are check off automatically with the first order but after that have to manually selected. Also note that custom orders have to be "added" before they can be printed, whereas previously you could print them prior to clicking the "Add" button.

Tom Make sure there is check mark on the diagnosis first and then check mark the test. When you print then the diagnosis and test will both print.

Thanks, I'll give it a try when I get back to the office on Monday. I'm not sure where the diagnosis boxes are, but I'll look for them. I usually type in the diagnosis, search for the proper code and enter it as a diagnosis. After the diagnosis' are entered, I order the test. How do I check off the diagnosis? Like I said, I'll check on Monday. Thanks!

This is a chronic problem with AC. always creating more problems with each upgrade, though they do solve some in new versions. Why do we have to continue to keep doing upgrades when it is really not an 'Upgrade' rather it upgrades our frustration level. Their tech support is great. great people

I am using 6.3.3 and am unsure if it is worth it for this upgrade. None of the changes described in the recent email would help me except for speed. How much faster does it get?

Not significantly faster. The advantage for me was the updated drug database.

They are still having issues with the orders and what order you do the tick in?
@Catherine I am still at 6.33. I guess the two other things that may or may not be helpful would be SQL 2012 Express, although it still has the same memory as Express pretty much always will. I doubt you need 10 GB of database space especially when AC can compress whatever you have now.
The thing that my staff really wants is the fax number and phone number of the pharmacies in eRx.
