OK, I know Halloween is coming. Perhaps there are gremlins about. Here is a spooky happening.
Yesterday, I was working on a chart, AC closed unexpectedly. When I resurrected chart, the medications field on main screen was blank. If I double click and get the active medications window, the medications were there. Even if I reentered them and saved, they would not show on main screen. The only way to get the medications to show was to start an entirely new note. I chalked it up to AC hiccup.
But, today, it happened again, and AC had not closed. I tried opening the chart on 3 different computers, all behave the same.
A major PITA, to have to do the whole note over.
Anyone ever see this, thoughts?

Donna,
I have only seen this once in awhile and do not know why it occurs, but if you use the Control C and Control V for copy and paste of your previous note, it will paste the meds onto the current med list without disappearing, but you have to use the buttons and not right click to copy and paste for it to work.

Jim, Good idea, that would certainly be better than doing the note again. I did try copy and paste, but with right click, and, as you said, it did not work. Thank you.

This is the best "fix" I have found so far--glad that worked.

Donna:
This is a known bug, that has been present in version 6.3.2 and 6.3.3. I have talked with tech support about this numerous times and they do not have an answer. As Jimmie said, the best solution is to cut and paste from a previous note. You cannot right click on any text field in an open Amazing Charts note and expect it to work like Microsoft Word, etc., only left click. This is why you have to use the cut and paste commands under the edit menu that Jimmie refers to, or use Dragon NaturallySpeaking commands.

Thanks, Doctor Mel. It's worth knowing that it is a known bug versus my own database gone bad. Relatively recently, I moved from 6.0.10 to 6.3.3 and this is the first I had seen of this behavior. (My strategy is to stay one version behind to try to avoid some of the worst bugs that have been in new releases.)
When I started with AC, it drove me nuts that you could not right click to copy and paste. But, you can use CTRL right click to do it. That is what I usually do, but didn't think to try the CTRL C and V until Jim reminded me.

hello. I recently had this problem with a new patient with no previous note to copy and paste. She had a long list of meds and my MA did not have the time to put them all in before I saw her and had to put them in later , so when she forwarded the chart to me , the meds were blank - when she put the meds in later , when I double clicked on the meds field the meds were there but would not show up on the printed note and the field stayed blank. in this case, what I had to do was to have her forward her version of the chart and I copied and pasted from there to my version of the chart which was saved in my in box. just thought this might help you for new patients bala
