A number of us we getting together with other users from across the country on October 24-26, in Laramie Wyoming for a user group meeting. This will be a valuable and enjoyable opportunity to interact with other physicians who are using the program. In addition, some of the discussion will center around less EMR-centric aspects of practice for the solo and small group professional. A link to a list of suggested topics as well as more information about the event is here. .

A similar small group meeting was held at Tahoe about two years ago. Those of us who attended can attest to the great time and great learning experience that we had. There was really something for everyone; both physicians and their families. Users of AC at all levels were able to pick-up useful tips and time savers as well as more significant changes to their efficiency and workflow. On top of that, there was a lot of group discussion about how to survive in the current environment with all its stresses for the solo doc. We hope to replicate that experience.
While neither this event nor the one in Tahoe was officially organized by AC, it is worth mentioning that Jon Bertman was a surprise visitor for a day at Tahoe.

Indy is the organizer for this event. As you know from his posts here, he is both a tremendous resource for technological questions as well as someone who is truly committed to helping us succeed in all areas of our practice.

I understand that time is short and it might be a challenge to make arrangements at such a late date for this meeting. On the other hand, if you can possibly make it I would bet that you find the experience worthwhile. You would be taking two weekdays off, Thursday and Friday, and then spending the weekend. We are looking forward to a great combination of a useful learning experience and a good dose of camaraderie and fun. We hope others will decide to join us. The more the merrier.

Just three weeks to go... plenty of spots left. Feel free to PM me or Indy with any questions.

I would also suggest if you rent a car to keep in mind Laramie is over 7000 feet in elevation, and this time of year can bring quite a bit of snow. So rent something that can negotiate snow. I have a 2000 Escape that does well in the biggest drifts here.

Yes, and Indy may want to confirm this for Wyoming, but a few miles north up here in Montana, you can have any and all 4 seasons in one day any day of the year. Just come prepared is all.
