I have been (happily) using AC for over 18 months now. We switched to AC in the cloud yesterday, and since, are unable to use Dragon version 11 to dictate- the sentences begin with lower case letter, I often see the first letter of the first word duplicated, and other bizarre behavior. The support rep I spoke to at AC had no ideas and suggested I call Dragon (which I do not believe is possible despite their $1600 price tag).
Has anyone experienced this and/or have any ideas how to remedy??? I'd had to go back to AC residing here in the office, but can't keep going like this.
Thanks in advance!

Dave, Welcome! We have clients who have used Dragon since the beginning (a few years ago), and we haven't experienced problems, so I am just going to make a guess that there is a problem with latency on your internet connection. Are you running over wireless? What kind of internet do you have DSL? Here is a VOIP test that will measure the latency/packet-loss/jitter, which will give you a sense of the consistency of your connection. http://www.onsip.com/tools/voip-test

I see the same behavior with non medical dragon when dictating to a remote session, eg. RDP or. LMI

Indy: Thank you for your reply. I have a fast (~T1 equivalent) connection via cable modem setup by professional (read:Expensive) IT people so connection speed is not issue. My computer likewise is core i7 based w/ lots of RAM so that' s not the issue. I'd assume this is an AC issue as all other software works fine with Dragon. AC used to work perfect with Dragon until we went to the cloud. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dave,
If you would run the VOIP test and share the results that will help quantify your network performance.
You can also Private Message me if you like, and you can connect to one of our test instances and see if you get the same results or different.

Dave,
I believe the issue may be that DNS does not know what you are dictating into, meaning what type of dictation field, if the field you are dictating into is not on your own computer but is over a connection. The same thing would happen if you were remoting into a server that had your EMR with LogMeIn, TeamViewer, etc. and trying to dictate with DNS. I have experienced this problem trying to dictate directly into Amazing Charts over one of these connections. The work around for this is to use the Dragon Naturally Speaking dictation box and then the command "transfer text", after placing the cursor in the field that you want the text transferred to. If you go to the KnowBrainer Dragon NaturallySpeaking forum and search this subject, hopefully you will be able to find the thread about this because I asked the same question a number of months ago. If not, you can post the question again and Lunis Orcutt, who is the expert, will be able to answer more clearly than I have.

Thank you! I think you are absolutely correct!!! The dictation box works, but i'm still having trouble transferring text. Maybe that's user error. Not quite as smooth as directly dictating into the field, but maybe I can streamline it somehow. Thank you so much for clarifying this for me!!

Also, I can't believe I'm the only one using AC in the cloud and Dragon. Does this mean everyone is using this "go around" as it's quite laborious and adds multiple steps. Seems to me that everyone using AC in the cloud and Dragon should have this problem. It's certainly worth looking at going back to local residing data to me!

Dave, Have you been able to go onto the KnowBrainer forum yet? If you have time, calling Lunis Orcutt at KnowBrainer( http://www.knowbrainer.com/) would also be very helpful with this problem. I am surprised that no one else has posted as of yet.

I have been using Dragon Medical(installed on my office computer) in the office when doing my notes. When I use Dragon Medical(installed on my home computer)and any RD program(Logmein, GoToMyPC). the behavior you describe occurs. This has been going on for the past few years and I have learned to accept it. I have spoken to Dragon tech support and was eventually told that Dragon was not supposed to be used with RD programs. The tech support person I spoke to was aware of the loss of formatting(words starting with capital letters, extra punctuations, when deleting a word the cursor also deletes the last few letters of the previous word, etc.) I am surprised to hear that it is occurring when you are dictating to a program in the "cloud". If this problem cannot be solved it would prevent me from switching to AC Cloud.

One more note: I am wondering if the latest Dragon Medical would have solved this problem. I am using version 11.

Dragon Medical Practice ver 2 (actually Dragon Medical 12) does NOT correct the issue with dictating over a remote connection, in my experience.

I'm using Dragon 10. You hit the nail on the head...the problems are spelling and adding extra letters and punctuation. I'd avoid AC in the cloud for now....we're probably headed for local server to fix this (which is not our preference.)
