Anyone find the magic print button to print encounters for a specific provider within a specified date range - not one by one but in bulk for the whole range? Have a lot of medicare charts requested by insurance and only need to send specific information within a specific date. Ending up printing each encounter separately and then compiling into one massive document. Thought I'd through it out to the group.

Are you trying to print ALL the charts by a specific provider in a given range? Despite a log of absurd HEDIS, etc requests, we have not seen that one...

Our process for a chart request (e.g. "please send the 2012-2013 encounters on the following 10 patients"):
1. Send back a canned fax "we will be happy to comply with your request. Our chart copying fee is $xx per chart. Upon receipt of a check in that amount, we will forward the charts."
2. Reply to follow-up notes ("we cannot/will not pay a fee" or "it is your obligation to do so") be re-sending our initial fax.
3. When we receive the check, go to each patient's chart, hitting f-8 for "past encounters". On the left side, you have two choices. If you select "progress notes only" it will create a pdf with all of the patient's notes in sequence. If you select "all encounters" you can then select a particular date range; the disadvantage is that messages, etc are included.
With either method, you can then easily fax the document, send it to Updox, print to a disc, etc.

What would be really helpful is a way to print a batch of progress notes in a date range.
If you want a date range you have to pick each note and print (to PDF) separately and then go back and combine them into a single PDF.
Is there another way that I am missing?

Thanks

Greg, look at #3 above. "If you select "all encounters" you can then select a particular date range; the disadvantage is that messages, etc are included. With either method, you can then easily fax the document, send it to Updox, print to a disc, etc."

GOT IT!
Well hidden it was
Great, now I can print to PDFill and then encrypt using the PDFill Tools and e-mail records!
Can also use the Tools to merge the imported PDF items to include with the records!
Thanks

This works but you have to print each item separately.

Steve's technique solves that problem making it easier to prepare reports/record for reviewers.
