hi,
I am noticing that when I install AC on win 7 computers, at the end I get a message ' this software may not have installed correctly' - options are 'reinstall using recommended settings' or ignoring this message . It seems to be something to do with .NET file .
This does not happen with XP . AC seems to run ok if it is ignored but there are some errors such as editing templates where it will not save changes but I dont know if that is a problem with the version of AC or due to this error. If reinstall option is chosen the cmd prompt runs thru a screen quickly and then the message disappears .
how do I overcome this error , is it serious ?
appreciate any help from the tech gurus

Yea I always ignore the message. I have no problems.

I always get that message with updates. No problem. The first few times, I re-installed. Then I discovered if it finally reads that it completed successfully, you are fine. Unfortunately, the error message may remain. Just close it.

That happens with a lot of software installed on Win 7 Pro. Just ignore it. Or if you are game, you can disable the service.

This is an issue because Microsoft came up with this service to see if programs were compatible with Win 7.

Go to Start => Search and type "services.msc" without the quotes.

When the services window opens, search for Program Compatability Assistant.

Next, right click on the service and stop it.

Right click on it again, and select Properties.

Click on the Startup Type and change to Disabled. Apply and OK.


Reboot your computer, and you should be all set.

To co open Task Manager, go to services, and see if Pcasvc is gone. You may want to check prior to see the before and after.
