I received my email to contact support to upgrade. Received a call from tech support and was told that they can do the appointment. But she noted that I was a pediatrician and told me that there is a MAJOR issue with the new version. She states that we will have to manually input immunizations EVERYTIME we ordered them on the patient. She recommends to defer upgrading untill september when this will be apparently fixed. I have searched the user board and found NOWHERE where this has been reported. PLEASE if this is occuring why was it not mentioned by anyone using V6.5.6. Is there any pediatrician using 6.5.6 that has this problem?? I do not want to hold off on upgrading, but if this problem is out there I cannot see myself entering immunizations manually.

Wow, this is rather shocking that they would break such an important part of the program with this version, and not have known it before it is being released for general use.
What is up with AC? Where is the improved quality control and communication that was supposed to come after the acquisition by Pri-Med?

And Guardian support prices increased from $500 to $1000/year .... Looks like peds has been crapped on again ....
What do you mean you have to manually enter the vax ? I have no idea what my staff does.
Since there is no interface betweeen AC and Georgia Imm registry, I don't know if this will affect me anyway.

I am also confused - what do you mean enter the vaccination manually? I enter vaccines and obviously as a family physician I do not do as many as a pediatrician but I do a lot and we do enter a lot of them.

I, too, would be interested in knowing what you mean by "manually" putting in vaccines. Would someone elaborate?

This is the response from tech support:
In response to your email of July 11,2013.There is an issue with the Vaccine Administrion Codes not pulling the correct information in version 6.5. This is currently being worked on and has not been correct as of this date.
If you have any further questions please don?t hesistate to contact me.
I don't really care about the admin codes because we are not billing through' AC

Sorry for the delay.
I finally spoke to someone from tech support who appparently knows what is going on. This issue happens when you attempt to order a vaccine needed by accessing the "Decision & support" area from the summary sheet tab from the patient's chart. This apparently will not affect us because I normally will order a vaccine from my order sets within the open chart while in the room. If you have any questions, please feel free to email and I can try to explain what I was told by tech support. I explained to them what I do and I was told that the way I currently order vaccines should not be affected.

I wasn't finished and clicked on "submit" too early. Whe the patient's superbill is created the wrong CPT code appears and you will have to manually input the correct CPT code. Since we are not billing through AC this issue will not affect me.
I hpoe the above will explain what I have found out.

Couldn't AC have included a few peds in their beta testing? I know I've signed up for beta and never get picked...

And Guardian support prices increased from $500 to $1000/year .... Looks like peds has been crapped on again .... Guardian support went up 2 years ago. Most people advanced paid so you are just seeing the increases. What do you mean you have to manually enter the vax ? I have no idea what my staff does. If the staff puts the immunization into AC's registry it automatically creates a charge. Apparently there is an issue with it, but I have not noticed. Since there is no interface betweeen AC and Georgia Imm registry, I don't know if this will affect me anyway. The issue is with it putting the correct codes in billing. Couldn't AC have included a few peds in their beta testing? I know I've signed up for beta and never get picked... The change from V7 took about 3 hours to complete, with assistance from AC. When everything was done, I went to check on a patient and found 3 computers had AC crashing. They were not able to isolate the problem until the next day (which was OK since I was not seeing patients at that office.) You have to be prepared to deal with this if it happens. Beta is NOT for everyone. I have been beta testing, but not all problems always show up to everyone. Also everyone's system is different. Not sure if it is because I came from V7, although probably not since it was wiped clean off every computer and that was related to the bug that cropped up.

The patient's expectation is that you have all the answers, sometimes they just don't like the answer you have for them

I did decide to upgrade today and with tech support everything seemingly went well. Kicked it around before I left the office and everything seems to be working. Would definitely recommend tech support to be there, because there was an issue with the new SQL that had to be fixed(took some time, but he figured it out).
The real test is on monday when everyone is in. Hopefully the last post on this thread.

Please do not upgrade yet. We are a group of 4 pediatricians and the Immunizations are just a total mess. Takes ages to figure out what is going on. Also the new upgrade is much slower than the old. So, my advise is to wait until they have corrected the problem. Unfortunately no one ever told us that there were problems. Had they done so we would never have changed.
