Have had this problem since 6.5.4 Had hoped this problem would go away. The most helpful order tab for us is the "other"*custom order tab. We just upgraded to 6.5.6 and cannot print the order. There is a workaround-I can send it to myself or to the front desk and they can print it. Adds extra time

Make sure you type the custom order and then you have to go down to lower part and hit ADD button - then hit print and it should print fine. Weird that this is the only tab you have to hit ADD before printing. I ran into this on early beta test and discussed it and found fix. Check this out and see if corrects your issue.
As an aside Vicki are you sure it is not version 6.5.5? I just installed new version and it was not 6.5.6 - thought maybe just a typo but just wanted to make sure I did not miss anything.

Bless you!!! That works great. I just had a problem with something else and AC came up a message it was going to close. Said 6.5.6 I didn't know there was a 6.5.6. My husband installed the update on Friday and told me 6.5.6-thought he might have been mistaken.

Darn they just had me install 6.5.5 because of the diabetic study and I did not know there was a 6.5.6. I guess I will another upgrade in the future.
Glad that helped Vicki. You will occasionally get an error that says AC has to close and that has happened in all versions to some people at some times - don't know why - I attribute to Windows ghosts.

What is fixed in 6.5.6 vs 6.5.5? I got an email 10 days ago with the "final links" for the upgrade and it is for 6.5.5. What's with the "secret" new version?

John, I will let Vicki, Indy, and others address that. I have no idea if the newer version addressed a major issue or not, so soon after the "official" release of 6.5.5.

Working with Tech Support today on a 6.5.5 bug we discovered today (full patient address doesn't display on a med list printed from the Summary page), I was informed there is now a 6.5.7 version.

John, that is SO five minutes ago. We were downloading 6.5.8 when we heard that 6.5.9 was released. I may just wait until Monday and use 6.5.481.

In the interest of having the most recent version, I am willing to spend another 3 hours updating my office computers. Bring on that latest version, bugs and all!

Koby, I was just joking about the series of "final" releases. Ryanjo (John)- or AC- will have to let you know if there is really a 6.5.7 or not.

I got a good laugh out of this, and it got me thinking about what are called nightly builds in the Dev community. Perhaps there are some daring souls who want nightly builds out of AC. What it means to get the latest

Hi everyone,
All of this has me thinking in the other direction- who is running the oldest version of AC?
We are on 6.1.2, all is (relatively) well, so I am not in a hurry to change.

guess I missed the joke lol, and as an almost nightly flasher of Android Revolution HD for my HTC One I would welcome the dev community getting a go at AC. I'm still running 6.3.3 and not sure I'm gonna go to 6.5.5 unless someone can convince me the new 'improved' database makes it fly.

6.5.5 doesn't fly, but it doesn't lumber along either. It's more a deliberate saunter. As long as you keep interaction checking on manual.

Getting back to the issue of printing orders: The OTHER tab is very useful for me, and I need to print them indiviually. It is here that I refer a patient, print out instructions for insulin and so forth. With 6.3.6 I now have to "add" print, send (or save) then reopen the orders and start the next one.
And on the subject of updates, when was the last time I was happy about an update? Version 3.0? I would NOT do any of the recent updates if I had my druthers.

Martin!
Good to see you. So did you go to 6.3.3 or 6.5.6?

We went backwards from 7 to 6.5.6
I am digging through my file cabinet to see if I have a disc of version 3.0 that I could load instead. (lol)

I would need to verify that your support is current (that is for the folks who have mis-read my posts in the past), but I can get you the 6.3.3 installer if you so desire.
AC may also need to supply a retro-grade SQL script to turn the DB back.
The good news at least it isn't going from W8 to Win7.

You may have misunderstood. Version 3.0 We jumped ahead as a beta for Version 7, and we should not have done so. We (I) lack the technical skills to offer any useful feedback to the AC staff on the beta software. As soon as it got running it was evident we would not be able to use it for any billing, and so we never did. There was an update to the Beta, that fixed some small issues that we did not have, so I never upgraded. Before the Beta 7 we were not on 6.3.3 ever if I remember correctly.
But at times like these I reflect back on how happy I was with an update, and the last time I had that feeling, was about Version 3.0

I was suggesting 6.3.3 as it is the current stable release we recommend for our clients. The only folks we have installed 6.5.6 for are folks who want certain features, an are willing to live with the problems. Besides the issues already documented, one of those 6.5.6 sites needed some patient data imported, and during the data import the utility crashed and corrupted the AC install. Not lethal, but pleasant and disruptive. YMMV

Also to be fair we have a real snake pit of software. HP Reliant blade server Raid 5 with dual processors, 3 thin clients that just access the server, 4 additional antiques that are emulating thin clients and allowing us to enter vitals and so forth on old machines, then one Vista, two Windows 7 machines and gaggle of machines running XP (some were from the 'X-P' days, others came with Vista or even 7 and I insisted they be downgraded to 'X-P'.
No doubt running the old machines that are not supported by MS should cause some issues, but so far it causes less issues than the confusion of how to do tasks on the STUPID machine with VISTA!!
Our IT guy gave me a pitch today that the server is outdated and should be replaced instead of adding more memory to it. sigh....
