I spoke to AC today and they told me there was no easy way to do the following (except by blocking the spots on a day by day basis):
I would like to block a spot in the schedule from 3-4 pm everyday (titled-same day appts) for the receptionist to keep free from routine visits and have available for sick visits on a daily basis. Has anyone figured out a simple way to do this, without having to go into each days schedule and blocking it?
Doing it on a daily basis is way too time consuming.
Thanks

Dr Frantz,

I believe you can do this by going through "View","Administrator Options", "Scheduling", "Set provider schedules". Just as you can change your lunch hour to be every day.

Hi Beau
Thx for your reply!
I tried that, but it won't let me make 2 different blocks. I would then have to give up the lunchtime block. Unless you've figured out how to make it do 2 separate breaks in the same day's schedule.

It really is not that difficult to block off a time frame on a daily basis. A month can be done in about 3-4 minutes (I just tested this out on my home/test system. I cut and pasted the description with control c and v respectively, which would save some time. It might take more if there is more than one provider. )

In down times, she can update the schedule rather quickly. If the receptionist starts with a 3 month set, then updates moving forward, it's unlikely you will get too many patients in those slots.

Yes, this is not as slick as having 2 scheduled time slots open, but is rather easily accomplished.

Thx for the reply.
This is the first time I've used the forum even though I've had AC for 8 years. I'm impressed by how fast the responses came in. I will definitely use it again.
