Not working! have done all the voodoo we know. AC connector with green light.
Can't print to Updox from AC, can't send, haven't received since 6:53 am (now almost 9)

I have green lights, and the connector is running, put my print-to-Updox and secure messages are slow.
Found this on the status page: "Incoming items are experiencing a delay. No items are lost, and we are working to speed up deliveries."

Maybe incredibly slow? Some items I was trying to print and send to patient during visit when I posted earlier just came through. Tried sending something else to print to updox and no luck

Thanks Indy-just got an email from Updox confirming what you said--even though this is a nuisance it beats the old days--stuff starting to come through now--almost had to dust off the old fax machine!!

I just spoke with UPDOX. The servers got behind but they told me that everything should be caught up before long. I just confirmed this on my computer. On the status report, one must click on the green symbol to get the most current information. They are going to be making this clearer to us, so we can use the status board more effectively. Thanks UPDOX for the rapid response to my question.

How do you get to where you can view the status report in updox?

Make sure that you check the correct date, once you get to the site. You can click on the Green balloon to get the most current information if UPDOX is down. I was told by UPDOX today that they are continuing to refine this site so that it will be more user-friendly.

Ouch!!!! But when Updox is working--WOW!!!!! Yesterday during the 1-2 hour delay, I was starting to brainstorm on how to get the letters and lab results sent to patients, referral letters sent, how to respond to secure messages. I realized that what normally now takes less than 30 seconds to do, will now take (the old normal) at least 2-5 minutes per event. Print to paper, find and address an envelope, walk out front to dump in mail drop box, chat with front office gal about Doc being grumpy, look up the various fax#'s and manually enter each one to send to respective offices, try to call patient about results and get hold of patient and 5 minutes of chatting on phone get the results relayed and so forth and so on. So what Updox has afforded me is to keep one nurse that can do it all. Otherwise I would be experiencing first hand what my father in law who use to farm once told me--you have one hired man you have one good man, you have two hired men you have half a man, you have three hired hands you have no one working. So for the cost and growing pains, the service IMHO is quite worth it.

I do like Updox. I wish you could send messages directly to the patient without printing to Updox first. Maybe there's something I still need to learn

I agree. I used Paperport on Leslie's recommendation. With all due respect, I find Updox to be far superior. It is not free, however.

Vicki,
I just spent less than 5 minutes typing up five letters on labs, and I print to Updox with the lab results. My nurse knows to send those on to the portal of each patient. So I just do the Dr stuff and she does the rest of the work--but in the old paper days that would have been a minimum of 15 minute nurse time grabbing chart, getting paper lab results, copying letter and labs putting in envelope etc. so forth
I am not trying to sell Updox, but just am reminded, especially when there are times without it how far my practice has evolved in efficiency since 11/11.
But having the patient portal tied to AC is a must in my opinion if you want to maximize efficiency--or finding something that reproduces Updox functionality.
