I am trying to clean up our insurance drop down menu content. It is driving the billing people nuts when there are several variations on one company. I know at one time there was a post on how to do it (I think).

Any Help appreciated.

Might be best to wait for V6.5, which they said would be out sometime this month (or next...)

When it comes out the insurances are codified and updating them is a breeze. How many different ways can you put in Medicaid? I think we had 12. Took about an hour to corral all the insurances under the insurance update wizard. While I did this on V7 Alpha, it is being ported down to V6.5 as they move away from PM development.

I have done the cleanup manually before. Don't even try it. It took way too long but I was determined to have everything clean (I also do the billing so it was driving me nuts as well). But if you miss one record that still has a wrong/duplicated address, you can be sure one of your staff will select it and then it will get propagated through your patients again. I also asked AC if they can make the change in the db file itself. They said no, best to wait for V6.5...

I have called AC to ask if there's a way to clean this up without manually going through each chart. Nope. But there's an easier way to see which patient has the wrong Insurance name/address. You can do export all patient demographics from Administrator options. It will export to a CSV file. You can open this file in Excel and then sort by insurance name or address. (You can do a search in AC for insurance name, but not insurance address.)
