I was just wondering here, I will be using a desktop as the server and a laptop to go from room to room. After I set up the wireless network, lets say if the internet goes down; technically, I should still be able to use the laptop to network to the main computer correct? IN other words, internet will be down, but my network will still be up. I have a linksys router, will I have to be hooked up to the internet to set up my network or can I do it with out internet for now.

Yes, although the internet is disconnected, your local intranet is still connected and you can reach the database. The only problem you would have is if you were trying to check a drug or the like.

The 3rd option in ICD lookup is Google ICD, that will not work.
