Steven,
As you may know, MediSoft uses value added resellers for sales and service. So direct MediSoft support is expensive in order to support their resellers. MediSoft has been trying to reduce resellers to remove borderline resellers, which may be why your contact may not support it now.
You have to determine whether you need a reseller or someone without a lot of MediSoft experience. The MediSoft website has a locator service,
http://www.medisoft.com/WhereToBuy/FindAVarDirectly.aspx But, I think it only lists the larger resellers as mine is not listed for my city.
http://www.chnwmd.com/ is out of Seattle, and being a platinum reseller implies it is a significant enterprise in that large market. You will probably have to purchase a year service contract for about $1500, so that puts the MediSoft charges into perspective. They might have a single problem rate as a teaser.
Resellers that are not platinum or some precious metal are usually in a smaller market and don't have as many employees. Quality could still be fine.
You might be able to find other MediSoft users for references to resellers through your clearinghouse.
Lytec is a sibling of MediSoft, so you might look in that direction also. Other McKesson companies like RelayHealth or PracticePartner might. Give you a lead, but I doubt it.
Calling to some of the IT shops in the nearby larger cities may get you a contact that they think may have MediSoft experience.
My wife knows more about MediSoft than I do, but there are probably many other MediSoft users on here, so you might want to explain your error more.
