We use a Star TSP800II network printer for our prescriptions. The driver for the printer is on a pc running Windows XP 32 bit. Our various pc connect to the printer via ethernet. All pcs running Windows XP can print to the STar TSP800II without any problems. However, one new Dell desktop with Windows 7 (64 bit) can only print ONE prescription at a time. If I try to print more than one Rx at a time nothing happens. It does not make any difference if I set the TSP800II as the default printer. I would appreciate any help with this problem.

I suggest checking the printer configuration on the Win 7 computer. These are the instructions that work for me.

Ted,
I am experiencing the same thing with Win 7. I have latest drivers, as Bert suggests, but still can only print 1 script at a time. If you print more, they show up in the queue, they say they are printing, but, alas, NOTHING prints. If I print the SAME scripts out one at a time, they print fine.
I didn't catch which state you are from, but I am from NY and it tooks HOURS to finally get it set up and working. Whether it is on Star's drivers end, the AC interface, or something to do with Win 7 printer system leaves me to try to decide which way to go first.
Anyone have any suggestions.
Brian

What are your settings in the prescription format admin section? The TSP has been one crazy nightmare from the beginning, so I am not sure if this will help at all. From my experiments, you can not put the name of the state in the top field. You must put TSP800 there. At that point, you can use Format 1 or the state name. I was successful with both of the latter two. I realize that if you have success with TSP800 and Format 1, it may not be accepted by New York, something I find rather silly, give all of these tend to meet the criteria of stopping diversion of controlled substances. I suppose if you were to get it to work with the TSP800 in the top field and Format 1 in the bottom, you may be able to take it up with the DEA office there and see if it is acceptable. Also, are you using black mark paper? Bert,
Negative on this. I switched to format 1 and it still ignores more than 1 script. I have to leave the State as "TSP800" (I didn't know we added a new STATE to the Union, but AC thinks so) so that it recognizes the TSP printer. If I change the State to NY, it thinks it is printing to a normal printer and not a TSP format printer.
Thanks for you ideas, but..... The work-around to only print 1 script at a time is WORKABLE, but would like to know WHY......
Thanks, Brian

The why is because it's AC and Star. Now, I don't mean that as if it is either's fault or both because I don't know. I do know that something as simple as installing a printer driver should not be this difficult.
I would recommend emailing Christine Baldwin at Start Micronics at cbaldwin AT starmicronics.com. She is the one who I always work with. Don't remind her that they loaned/gave me a TSP800II. But, then, I have helped them quite a bit with sales.
Her direct line is 732-623-5500 ext: 509
Just play it up and tell her that Bert said she is the greatest thing ever. Anyway, she is the head of support there, and, given most people have problems with the TSP, I am sure she gets a lot of practice.
The last thing I forgot to suggest is what I did back in great Star failure. I don't know why it worked. But, try going to every computer in your office. If you can get just one to work properly, you can share that one out to all the others.

Did you ever resolve the problem with the Windows 7 not printing more than one Rx at a time. If so, how did you do it?

I just attached the Star to the network, installed a driver to the server, downloaded that driver to my computer and printed as many scripts as I want. See email.
