Hello,
I have a question for AC Support ... We subscribe to Amazing Chart's OffSite Backup, which will be performed nightly (we aren't up and running yet). Does anyone know how many "copies" of the backup are retained? Does each night's backup overwrite the previous? I'm trying to devise an adequate backup plan utilizing AC's OffSite Backup, OnSite NAS backup, and rotating external drive backups that are stored offsite. I'm trying not to be too anal, but I want to ensure we can recover from anything. Ok, I'm anal.

Thanks,
Dean

You would have to check with support, but last I checked, they hold several backups, perhaps as much as a month. Unlike a typical third-party backup solution, you don't have direct access to the repository/catalog.

On-site NAS is an excellent part of a holistic solution. Send the off-site backup, send the backup to the NAS, and then do manual directory clean-up once a month. It is a bunny trail about our reasoning, but we recommend that you hold on the backup for the first of each month.

And while you are being anal, I on the other hand am only being professionally paranoid wink

Or, as I have learned to say, I'm a recovering engineer.

Thanks, Indy! I like your strategy ... especially keeping a permanent backup from the 1st of each month. I'll probably burn that to a disc.

Have a great day!
Dean
