Has anyone completed the Menu 9, submission follow-up measure for stage 1? I am lost on this- can Amazing Charts be programmed to meet the Michigan requirements or is it a waste of time to try? We have everything done but this and we are very frustrated. We will not be happy if we meet all the other measures but this one, due to our lovely government not being prepared!

Hi KJVV,
To meet menu#9, you have to export an HL7 file and send it to the State Immunization Registry. This function does have to be done from the main server for the practice. It cannot be done from any other computer. Please let me know if there are any questions.
Before activating the interface, you need to contact your state health department and let them know you want to export data to the Immunization Registry for Meaningful Use. They will send you instructions on how they want the data uploaded. Activating the interface (do this after you get the instructions from the state). -Go to your Admin Options and select Interfaces. -Double click on the interface named ?Meaningful Use Immunization Registry?. -Click the button named ?Try It? and look for the Interface Trial Code. -Copy and paste the code in the box and click Install Files. Your interface is now active. To export HL7 data: -From the main screen of Amazing Charts, select ?File ? Import/Export ? Export to State Registry?. -Choose the top option that says ?Vaccinations Given since last export to state registry?, then click ?OK? -Leave the ?Registry User Name? and ?registry password? blank, and click ?OK?. -A message will appear that says ?Vaccination records were successfully uploaded to the state registry?. Click OK. Now we have to locate where the file was placed. It is usually located here: c:/Program Files/Amazing Charts/MUIR/Backup. You will see a file with the date and .TXT at the end of it (this is the HL7 file). Now follow the steps for your state to upload the information to them.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

This is a menu item, and since we only need to meet criteria for 5 menu items, am I correct in assuming that we can skip this item if we so choose?

You need 4 Menu Items from Menu 1-8 and either Menu 9 (Immunization Registry) or Menu 10 (Syndromic Surveillance)
