http://www.overstock.com/Office-Supplies/Office-Star-Traditional-Visitors-Chair/2605005/product.html

Hi everyone,

Just looking for some advice on waiting room chairs. We started out slowly, but now we are ready to move up to a better chair. Besides the ones we have now are getting less comfy.

The above is just a stepping off point in the $95.00 range. It got good reviews. But, there has to be literally hundreds of brands out there. Others must know what they like.

We need 10 chairs and are looking in the $90.00 to $130.00 range, but, of course, could go higher if there were chairs that were really nice. Keep in mind this is pediatrics. The above chair is leather. I have heard of "Pleather?" Also, it would be nice to have two chairs or a bench in case someone needs a wide chair.

Thanks in advance.

Are your current chairs worth reupholstering? About 10 years ago we struggled through this and actually had our chairs reupholstered going from a fabric to a leather. They have held up extremely well. We decided to go this route because the basic structure of the oak chairs were much sounder than any of the new products at the time. It was a bit pricey, but like anything sometimes the more you are willing to spend smart the more money you save in the long run. And whatever you do avoid going cheap, it will cost you more in the long run. However, I do not have any experience with the chairs on the link.

Thanks. No, I doubt anyone would no about the chairs on the link. Just an example of what we are looking at.

Our chairs now are metal, and they are horrible. Probably $45.00 a piece..

Depends on what you want.
One of the things that I discovered is that a number of my more robust parents will not fit into chairs with arms. Easier to have it hanging over a bit.

I recently upgraded from chairs at Sam's club, nothing fancy but I believe I paid about $30.00 a chair for them. They are sturdy and functional but not fancy.

I think you can find a lot of nice chairs in the price range you are looking. Just thought I'd throw these ideas out.

Bert,

Different approach, but someone a while back asked how to go about getting a high-capacity scanner (100-200 pages in the loader).

What we have done with SMB clients (where cash is king) is to keep an eye on business auctions, and take your time finding the stuff that you need.

Every location is going to be different, but I am regularly seeing businesses closing down by choice or force, so office gear is going to continue to hit auctions.

Throw a couple of bean bags and plastic some lawn furniture out there. Your patients then will not think you are over charging them.

I would check out a brand called Boss on Amazon. I bought 3 drafting stools for our exam rooms due to the high height of the counter. They are excellent. 90% of the time, my decision to buy a certain product depends on whether or not Amazon has free shipping on it as I have a prime account. I like getting items quickly.

Nice chairs. I am an Amazon Prime Account member as well, but somehow I always pick a product that doesn't fall under it.

Same happens when I buy computer parts. The brand I want isn't always Amazon Prime so you find the next best one. In my opinion, it is worth it when you get Amazon's customer service, rapid shipping, and free returns.

Ha, such a good price at 3.99/item for one day air. That's an amazing price. Newegg would charge me double the value of the item for that. I usually just go with 2 day since 50% of the time it ends up being one day. They are going to offer same day delivery in CA soon due to 2 new warehouses being opened.

Bert I think these chairs are excellent, I have similar leather chairs, they are nice, cleaner and present a nice office feel for your patients, remember as long as Obama doesn't win we need to stay competitive and make patients feel that we stand out quality wise.
