I KEEP HAVING A PROBLEM WITH AC AUTOMATIC BACKUP. IT WORKS FOR A WHILE, THEN IT STOPS & I NEED A 2ND LEVEL TECH TO RESET THE SYSTEM, WHICH USUALLY WORKS FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS A KNOWN "BUG" WHICH PRESUMABLY WILL BE FIXED IN VERSION 7. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT DEFICIT IN THE SYSTEM. I HAVE TO REMEMBER TO MANUALLY BACKUP THE SYSTEM WHEN THE AUTOMATIC IS NON-FUNCTIONING. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS WHY THERE CAN'T BE A PATCH THAT CAN CORRECT THE PROBLEM RATHER THAN HAVING TO WAIT WEEKS TO MONTHS FOR A NEW VERSION TO COME OUT?

Do you have more details regarding this issue?

Did you check the Event Log to see why it's failing?

Please refrain from using ALL CAPS. It's consider screaming in online forums.

Sorry to write in caps. I usually write much of my progress notes in caps. I can't check the Event Log, I'm not that tech savvy. I was told by both Level 1 & 2 techs that there is a bug, and that it wouldn't be fixed until the next version. You would have to ask them as to what the problem is. All I know is that the automatic backup goes off, and some other minor anomalies appear during booting up

It really isn't as easy as simply patching the software. Most companies such as Adobe, JAVA, etc., will have multiple updates between bigger versions of the program. These are usually downloaded from the Internet and enhance functionality, fix problems or allow the software to work better with other programs.

AC doesn't have that technique, and it would require releasing a new update. It would be a lot of trouble to release a new update just for a problem with the scheduler.

As to scheduling, I can see where that would be helpful. For me (and this is just I), I prefer the manual backups along with the automatic backups of the server. Maybe Sandeep can write a script for you.
