Hi- We are in Michigan and beginning the stage 2 follow up submission steps for the MCIR vax registry. Does anyone know what stage 2 involves or where I can find out? Is there anyone from Michigan with A.C. who has begun this? Do I join a sub-state health information exchange, or just go with the state of Michigan for testing? Does A.C. include the required fields in the exchange?

CMS just published the rule last week ( here is the Overview ). You can't start Stage 2 until calendar year 2014, but (surprise) it seems like you only need to attest for 3 months for the first year of Stage 2, not a full year. It would seem that in 2013, you will continue to use Stage 1 criteria, but will have to comply with MU for the whole year, not just 3 months. This will apparently give the EHR companies like AC until Jan 1, 2014 to upgrade their software to collect Stage 2 MU data.

I also read about the postponed Stage 2. I have not read about how this correlates with the "Bonus" or "Incentive" payments. Has anyone heard of any changes to payments?

I don't believe this delay alters the payments.

I have a question re: "the money". I received the money last year in November. I want the money for this year. What precisely do I need to do to get this money and when do I do it?

Same as you did last year for the whole calendar year and then attest at the end of the year.....

It does not appear you need to register if you did so last year. You just need to attest after 12/31/12.
