Anyone else perturbed by the number/frequency of eRx refil requests for controlled substances?
No matter what I do ("Fax request", "refill not appropriate", etc) half the time the pharmacy just tells the patient I denied it and they resubmit the SAME request!
If it is not legal to prescribe them, (at least without the complex security the DEA requires), why is it legal to request them?

Grrr!!

Now breathe!!

Another "new corporate pharmacist" habit is to request preauthorization on a med that costs the patient less if purchased for cash. I guess they get paid more if they run it through the insurance plus collect the copay.

Oh, yes!!

My lisinopril costs $10 for 3 months if paid for cash, but my copay is $26.00 if run through insurance.
