Use this setting and you'll see why Remote Desktop is so much better than using LMI in house.

NP, jimmie. I/We owe you a dinner. You may be the first user to actually take our advice, lol. Well, except Tom.

I think Bert may have at least 8000 more PMs, keeping people like me in line.

One quick point difference I have noticed with my current setup about Logmein and RemoteDeskTop, is that with LMI I don't have to sign on/off when I go from laptop to my office computer (main computer) and with RDT I do, which is a bit inefficient. However, (Sandeep please don't faint) when I upgrade my main computer with a mirrored drive/off and on site RAID 1, my local IT guy says he will be able to arrange the RDT where I won't have to sign on/off when I transition between my laptop and main computer in my office. This is critical for me because I really like opening the chart in my office on my main computer, once my nurse puts in the vitals, then I print up on paper the previous note, go to II and update any PMHx by dragon, then take lap top in exam room, and during encounter escript, e-order, print up from up to date any teaching info, take lap top back in office and complete note and summary with dragon on my main computer. Sounds laborious but really is efficient, if I don't have to sign on and off between transitions. When I was with out my HP lap top for the first month or so of going live with AC (because of motherboard issues) I was able to critically analyze what was absolutely essential during the encounter in the exam room with a laptop, and came up with this approach.

This is actually a legitimate case to use the multiple sessions patch for Windows 7 lol. Patch your main computer with this: https://www5.ibackup.com/qmanager/ibsjsp/IBSGetShare.jsp?key=lmcwk84662 , I'll send you the password in a PM. Check the box to enable multiple logons per user or just make 2 user accounts.

This is actually a security feature. So no one can see what you're doing with your computer. It just locks the computer when you login. Technically, that's how it should be done. With an SSD, I can lock and resume in less than a second.

If you don't like typing in the password, you can get a fingerprint reader or something or remove the password. (The patch has an option for that, but it would be dangerous to use.) The multiple sessions will let you run two concurrent sessions. Two separate instances of AC, so you would have to look up the patient when you got back to the room. You could use something like UltraVNC over the LAN too if you just want to see your screen.

So lots of choices. You can decide what you think is best.

LOL, had I not had that two day meltdown. Mods get 10,000 PMs and users get 200. I think I dropped from about 700 to 200 really fast.
