We are thinking about expanding into ancillary services such as doing mammograms in house instead of referring them out.
Does anyone else have experience as to doing this inhouse?
Thanks!

No experience, but interested why you would want to get into a relatively low reimbursed, very litigenous part of medicine. Most radiologists will tell you that most of their lawsuits are over reading mammograms. I think it is great if you are doing to improve care, but would think could do other things than mammograms as revenue source.

The lab we use also has radiology as well. They bring a mobile mammo unit to our office once a month. We don't make any money on the mammograms, we just do it as a courtesy to our patients (although we do get the office visit for the breast exams). Their radiologist reads the mammograms.
