Currently, with the automatic backup system, one daily backup can be made. I wish there was a way to backup multiple times. I currently use Allsync to realtime backup the imported items folder. Any change is backed up right away to the USB drive. The automatic backup does it once a day which I have set to be done at night. I wish there was a way to backup the data only with/without the imported items at least a couple times a day. I had it set to backup during the workday before without any slowing of the main computer.

BackupAssist can give you this desired functionality. Ability to backup the database every minute along with the imported items synchronization if you need these features immediately. Doing multiple full database backups daily is a waste of space. Incremental backups seem far away at this point.

Is BackupAssist better than SBS2011 Standard backup?

Yes. Very much so. It allows backup and restoration of the components of SBS. Not just an entire image of it. Many backup options and locations available. They have a trial available. You should PM Bert about it if you have any questions.

To use the constant SQL backup feature, you will need the SA password or find a way to "access" the database. (E.g. another user account with sysadmin privileges)

I do not think AC gives you SA password. What is sysadmin - is it the administrator of AC?

You can have multiple admins on an SQL Server. sysadmin is a role/group of permissions in the SQL server. That was my subtle way of telling you a way to backup the database without knowing the SA password. wink wink wink

If that didn't make sense to you. PM Bert about his SQL guy.

If you are referring to the AC backup, you can back up AC 50 times a day. You are correct if you mean scheduled ones.

I am not sure why you would want to run multiple backups.

To those who can write macros and scripts.

I was easily able to use Task Scheduler to run AC several times a day. Unfortunately, it only brings up the program.

Is there anyone out there who could write a script that would mimic the start button on AC or is there anything in task scheduler that would do the same?

Bert, you have mentioned AutoHotKey.
AHK could certainly do that.
