Hi. We are a new practice using AmazingCharts. Can anyone recommend a small insurance card scanner to keep at the front desk? Is there one available that scans data directly to the demographics section? Or will we still need to type in the information? Thanks.

We have been using Worldoscan 600

It is the lease expensive card scanner. The software is a little glitchy but it works.

Another good card and general purpose scanner is:

It is three times the cost of Wordoscan 600 but also scans other papers and works really well. But needs two USB ports.

Marty directed you to one thread, and here is another with some additional useful information. We did get a ScanShell, and one of our front desk people loves it; the other doesn't. I don't believe any machine is capable of extracting information and putting it into the appropriate demographic fields in AC. That would be a real plus!
