Does anyone have any experience with any card scanner device/software? We were hoping to buy one in the hope of saving time and increasing efficiency. Does one integrate with AC?

www.medicscan.com

It's bulletproof. Used it for two years without an issue. Saves in multiple formats. Can save both sides of the insurance card in under four seconds. You can save where you like. It doesn't integrate with AC in that you would need to import the file each time.

Important: No matter how confident you are with what you need on the site, make sure you speak with someone first before you buy and let them know exactly what you need it to do.

Oh, it's no big deal. You purchase the Mediscan (that does both sides), and when the patients comes in, you run their card through. It then brings up the card on your monitor, you name it and save it automatically to any folder including Imports. I generally save it to a folder in the AC folder and then have my receptionist import it into AC. I think we use .tiff. It's been sometime since I looked. You can also scan business cards, licenses, etc. As stated, just be sure to talk with a sales rep to be sure you get the right one.
