Is there a way to mass delete most of your items (IE check box), but not all of them? I want to select about 99% of them and delete them.

Thanks!

Ben

In your messages - the deleted item list. One PA had 2500 and one doc had over 5000. I thought that might slow down amazing charts.

Thanks!

Ben,

I think the easiest way is going to be to highlight one message, then click "delete". Use the "Delete Multiple", then select "Check all" and uncheck what you don't want deleted. Otherwise you'd have to go through each message.

There are plenty of reports that a large deleted message box can slow you down, so what you suggest makes sense. I think it is "all or nothing" with the deletion. What I would suggest is that you go through the list, "retrieve" the messages you want to save (which will pull them back to your inbox) and then delete the remaining bulk of deleted messages. You can "re-delete" the ones in your inbox, if you want them kept in the deleted box for some reason.

Also remember that you have the option of setting a preference to delete everything in the deleted message box every time you log off, which will avoid this problem.

Thanks Jon! I was hoping there was some super secret easy way, but I guess what you have suggested is the best "real" option.

Thanks so much!

I have tried to remove the deleted items from my deleted items section and I am unable to do so. When selecting the "deleted item view" and then click on "remove all" the "busy icon" comes on and after awhile the "busy icon" stps all the files are there and nothing has happened. I tried it on various machines without success. I believe that this has slowed my machine down. I must have 1300 messages in the deleted items group.
Is there something I am not doing right?
Please help.

Raj
