I am trying to find a thread on this, but nothing like waiting to the last minute. I am to give a half hour talk this friday to staff on EHR/compliance issues pertaining to HIPAA--any 1-2 page handouts or links that would simplify this topic? I went to the governmental website and spent over an hour and still couldn't find anything useful. I think I recall a thread before, but couldn't find it. thanks for your help in advance.

Jimmie,
I am very interested in what you found. We are somewhat lacking on policies.
  Thanks so much!

Ben, I'll have to do a little more research, but will let you know what I find.

Ben,
I found an article from 2005 from Family Practice Management, a bit dated but it looks like a nice overview. It is titled 10 steps to HIPAA compliance--www.aafp.org/fpm/2005/0400/p43.html
We have 8 docs in our group, and we are all transitioning into AC, except one who has been using e-clinical for several years, but I "volunteered" to start the conversation with the nurses, so will go over this article as a starting point and will have to get more involved as time goes.
