For the past month or two I have been having more problems with AC freezing up and crashing. Was happening about 10 times per day and most likely to happen when opening imported items for viewing. AC support tried some things but didn't fix problem. They suggested a complete reinstall of AC which I haven't done yet.
Then the problem seemed to stop. Only thing I did different was I changed the resolution/performance settings in GoToMyPC which I use a lot.
Spontaneous remission and coincidence, or is this somehow related?

The problem with computer programs is that seemingly unrelated things can cause problems. Perhaps there was an interaction that caused it. Overall, 6.1.2 has been stable for most people.

Mine only freezes up about once or twice weekly. 10x per day seems incredibly frustrating.

Did you try disabling hardware acceleration?
The fact that you are indicated problems are disappearing with the tweaking of display drivers for GoToMyPC suggests disabling hardware acceleration might work.
