Why does it take AC 1 to 3 minutes to import a lab report?
I had grown deaf to the staff complaining about the time it takes for AC to import labs. That was until we started having problems with one lab interface duplicating, which required me to do the import for a few days.
I've looked at the HL7 files. They're 10 to 30 lines of text. How can it take 3 minutes to import and process 30 lines of text? My teenager can do 30 lines of text on a cellphone in less time!
We had 15 labs waiting this morning. (We average 25 to 30/day.) It's been an hour and it is just now finishing the last one - that it has been working on the entire time I've been writing this diatribe. And that was running it directly on the server. When the staff runs it on a station, their machine is unusable until it finishes. Which explains why they're asking me to buy another PC just to run imports.
I'm pretty sure its not a hardware problem. Server is quad core, 8g ram. Stations are dual core, 4g ram. 1g network. Everything else hums.
Anybody else?
(BTW - -its still grinding on the last LabCorp import....)

Importing has always been a bit slow, but not like you are describing - you should find a way to have a few labs available and then log onto guardian angel, ask them to log on while you download so they can see and advise if there is solution.
