have gotten two very different reads from a/c today

one seems reasonable; the other unreasonable

wonder if others have experience

I own 5 licenses, but my practice has become quite a bit smaller, and now has me and a mid-level (in the middle of chemo, so not in the office very much). I'm due to renew support in May and have been told (1) that I can purchase 2 support seats, one for each active provider or (2) that I have to purchase 5 support seats or give up 3 of my current licenses, which I would have to buy back at then current pricing should the need arise. The first response seemed fair and reasonable; the second did not, and seemed to me to be quite at variance from a/c's usual style.

anybody have any experience with this issue?

suggestions?

Dear Dr. Burr,

I would be happy to get an email to Jon. Please shoot me out a note explaining the changes in your practice and your request. I will get it off to Jon and let you know what we can do to help.

Hi Bob,

First, I apologize for our mixed message.

You have experienced the effect of our rapid growth: not everybody working at/with/for Amazing Charts understands the concept of Kind Capitalism - mostly since it still is being developed (here is where we are working to officially define these tenets).

I understand where the confusion has come from; most of our team has come from other corporate cultures where the "dollar is sacred" and everything else is second to it. With our rapid growth, we've not had the time to (figuratively) beat the corporate environment out of all our employees. (Mostly since I'm focusing on getting our long-overdue practice management module complete.)

Anyway, rest-assured that we will treat you fairly. Not through favoritism or because you complained, but because Kind Capitalism means treating our clients fairly - the way we want to be treated ourselves, and that means that if you aren't using the additional licenses why should you have to pay support and maintenance for those licenses? That just doesn't seem fair.

We are working internally to educate our team on this seemingly obvious philosophy, but it is surprising how difficult it is to get corporate and bureaucratic mentality out of folks.

Again, sorry for the confusion and thanks for your constructively bringing this to my attention.

Jon

The reason Jon@AC is having such a hard time educating these guys to the way AC does things is because they are probably accustomed to having things like commissions and raises tied into how much they bring to the bottom line.

Good luck, Jon, you're going to need it.

Jon,

Thank you operating AC with your principals of kind capitalism. It is easy to get discouraged in today's world where so few companies operate in a respectable fashion. The growth of AC has not always been easy or smooth, but I, for one, thank you for your basic decency, reasonableness, and kindness. I hope you can continue to keep these tenets in the forefront as AC continues to grow.

This AC community is very special.

My dad told me when I started "Take care of your patients and your patients will take care of you." He was a very smart man. I'm so happy to see that AC feels similarly.

Thanks for the statement of principles. Actually, I see nothing wrong with commissions & raises-- pegged to customer satisfaction.

you come through again.A few months ago my asssociate left after just 1 month of paying for a licence for him--when i wrote to you to see if you would prorate the use and refund some of the licensing fee .you sent back the whole amount!!!i have found the guardian angels always willing to help and often have gone above and beyond.I have convinced several of my solo colleagues to go with Amazing Charts and they have all been surprised at seeing " kind capitalism" at work. And the ac community here on this board is truly a terrific resource
