I was having a lot of freezing/crashing problems and one day I just happened to look in my "Deleted Items" folder under messages. I found 2700 messages in there! They used to disappear when you closed AC on older versions but no longer. I deleted them and my system has improved noticeably. FYI.

Bill,
This was changed some months ago, but I think is good to provide people with a reminder of the change periodically.
FYI, if you like the old way, go to Edit...My preferences...User preferences...and check the box "Automatically clear deleted message box when logging off".

I looked in preferences but for some reason could not find that when I first noticed the issue. But now I have checked it and I much appreciate it.
