We just upgraded from 6.0.10 to 6.1.2, now the providers are reporting:

"when I pull up order and hit print for lab orders my computer shuts down"

Seems hard to believe, computer shuts down? Ever heard of anything like this? I'm going to go see it in person later today. Thanks for any ideas.

This is what I found:

When printing from Crystal Reports, it takes quite some time for the print job to be sent to the printer. If you try hitting the red "X" trying to close out of Crystal Reports, it often causes a crash. the solution is to be patient, and when the print job has been completed, Crystal Reports automatically closes and returns you to the orders screen. It is slow and irritating.

Thanks for that clear explanation. We just figured out basically the same thing. In 6.0.10 they were used to hitting Print then immediately hitting X.

With 6.1.2 that sequence results in AC crashing (not the system shutted down as they first reported to me). Looks they need to wait maybe 5-10 seconds now and let the window close on it own. This is irritating to them, but at least we can avoid the crash by not hitting X.

AC Support said installing .NET 4.0 and uninstalling/reinstalling crystal reports might address the speed issue, we are on XP. They didn't sound super confident. Maybe I will try it on one machine.
