Hi,

I am asking this for a friend (ENT) who is just about to take the AC plunge. One concern he has involves scheduling allergy shots, which are q 5 minutes. He does not want to have q 5 min slots all day, every day.

I suggested that he use 15 min slots and triple book the allergy shots.

Any other ideas?

Thanks. Gene

Am I hearing this right? An actual visit that is 5 min, not just an injection? That's a different world! I usually just overbook short slots.

I think the overbooks that Gene suggests is the easiest solution. Or set up another mid-level provider for the shots, ie: "Allergy Shots". Both providers schedules will display in the Schedule window if you click the "All Providers" button.

He could set up another provider (Allergy Shots) (which would be a phony one and not charged for) and provide it with its own schedule. It could have 5 minute slots while the doc has whatever he wants.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if you set one "provider" with 5 minute slots, won't all providers get 5 minute slots?

Thanks. Gene

No, each provider can have a different schedule, time of appointments, days, etc.

Hi All,

Each computer can have a different time slot size. But each schedule on the same computer will have the same size slot. There is currently no way to have different size time slots for schedules on the same computer. You can make different appointment times. They will fill the time slots as needed. For example if you have 15 min slots. It will take three 5 min appointments or one 15 min appointment before the slot is seen as overbooked.

Claire: This is one area it would be beneficial for AC to change. It has to do also with the presentation of your product, as the scheduling screen is something a potential user will often see first. (Ask Apple about the importance of appearance for selling software!) I have seen it compared to eCW, which allows different size slots and even colors for the types of slots. It does not seem like it would be a difficult fix. It is a little shameful when I show off the product and it says Joe Smith 4x in a row because he has a longer appointment - but looks like 4 short appointments. That, and the letter writer, are two areas where AC is missing out on the look and feel of a professional looking piece of software, and also the marketing opportunities that go with it.

I never realized this -- so the default time slot ( 5 minutes, 15 minutes, etc)can be a different interval for the same provider on 2 different computers?
