Is MU money taxable?
I have not received a 1099 from CMS or other gov agency?
I appreciate a feed back.

I believe MU incentive money is treated like any other income. So probably set aside a third of it for taxes. But you could write off hardware costs as business expenses.

I believe that Sandeep is correct. You should be getting a 1099 from Medicare every year. That will include your 18k (or whatever the amount is for that given year).

all of the above answers are correct.
It is treated just like your usual medicare income.
It's the perfect government trick "we'll give you 3/3, but take 1/3, and hey you still have 2/3 more than you started with so you are still in better shape than before (and so are we...)."
