When we first started ePrescribing, about 97% of our scripts went through. Now we are down to around 85% or less. This weekend none went through out of 15. All said queued.

Most of the scripts we send our codified and send via ePrescribe and not by fax according to the New Crop criteria. However, when I look at the status, all of them say fax. Most say success, but is it supposed to say Electronic or Fax. The status column says Success for Fax and Verified for Electronic.

AC has looked into it and stated that we are missing our SBI, whatever that is. I am enclosing a snippet to show what it looks like. Even though it says fax, it is difficult to believe it is faxing since, our fax rate prior to eRx was lower.

I wish in addition to the information you showed, it consisently showed which pharmacy the script was sent to

It does on the status screen under ePrescribe on the main window, which is where that came from.

The key word was consistently. As shown by your example, there are two blank spots where pharmacy info should be listed.

Since AC doesn't always remember preferred pharmacy, it causes problems when the patient shows up and the pharmacy says it's not there. Nine times out of 10 it's the patient who show's up at the wrong pharmacy or the pharmacy doesn't check their faxes. It's nice when the pharmacy info is listed because we can then see where it was sent to.

I don't even think to look there. I usually just go back into the ePrescribing and see what pharmacy is saved. Guess it would be faster that way.

Every once in a while, perhaps when I am bored, or especially when I should be doing a note but don't feel like it, I go exploring in the deep recesses of the New Crop screens in AC. Sometimes I find new and useful information. So try this:
Go to a patient's chart, preferably one who has NO prescribed medications (an explanation for that comes later).
Open the eRx module (either from within the chart, or by right clicking and going to "medications and eprescribing").
At the top of the screen, go to the menu "End of Day Reports".
A screen opens to create the report. Select the dates in the two calendars to include the date of the prescription in question (or just select today's date if the prescription was written today or you want to see the status of today's prescriptions).
Click "printer friendly" to display the report.

This report displays additional information, beyond what is shown in the report Bert and Marty discuss above. For example, an electronic prescription will say "Verified" on one line, then on the next "Queued", and on the next "Success".
Further, the first line ("Verified") may not list the pharmacy...but the other two lines do!

This should help you to know where the prescription went and presumably if it was received.

(I suggested beginning with a patient with no prescriptions because all the lines of the medications listed must be completely filled in, or you get an error message and cannot get to these screens. The report is the same: it makes no difference which patient you start with- so I start with an empty one to avoid the error).

Thanks Jon. But, I don't see where that provides anymore information that on the Prescription Status under ePrescribing. At the top of that window is a drop down list for the status: Failed, Queued, Verified and Unknown. Ironically, there is no success.

Most of my scrips say Fax and then Success. There is no way to know if it reached the pharmacy as it only means, from my understanding, that it got through New Crop to Surescripts.

I still don't understand why the status shows Electronic and Verified maybe 1 in 200 scripts, while the other 199 say Fax and Success.

I know that a non-codified script will always send as a fax. But, am I to believe that the meds that say Fax and Success or even Fax and Failure are indeed faxes? I came in last Saturday and say eight medications "Queued," which explains the five phone calls from patients whose meds had not arrived. ePrescribe should not be in queue or maybe they are.

It does sometimes provide more information. Where the "Prescription Status" under ePrescribing has a blank for pharmacy, the report I describe fills it in. Where it has "Verified" this new report often will say "Success". I don't know how often it gives additional information, but thus far, it frequently does.

I don't know if this helps with the issues you have with regard to Fax vs Electronic, but it does help with a lot of other questions.

Hi Bert,

I have contacted NewCrop about your issue. They were able to re-register your account and issue an SPI number.
All of your scripts should now go out electronically.

Please let me know if this is not the case.
