I know that users can be deactivated, but can they be deleted?

It looks like a couple have been deleted in the past, namely #1 and #3, but I don't know who deleted them or how.

There is a provider called "LOSTPROV" that showed up when I tried out an interface, and I would like to get rid of it. Also, my office manager created some identities that we are no longer using.

Brian,
You bring up a good question and my gut answer would be "no" simply because once anything has been done by any one person, even if they are no longer with you, you would always want them to be tracked and known for what did in the past. At one point they were part of you office and staff and prbably did some amount of work in the system. Now for some "extra ID" you may have created that you no longer use, you may be able to do the old update that ID and enter all new info for that ID and use if to enter your next new ID you care to create.

We do this for patient charts that never got started. If the chart is completely empty of any and all infor execpt for basic demographics, we re-use that chart number by starting the next few patient by re-doing all info in the demographics and page and then, bang, that new patient now has that chart number. But obviously this is a work around for only totally empty charts.

Nope, they can't be deleted, as existing records are indexed to them. Deleting them would break that link.

OK, well that makes sense.

The help file needs to be corrected to reflect that (it says you *can* delete users).

Who do I contact about this? Do I use the "Report a bug" feature?

Yes, send it in the "report a bug".

Oh, this "re-use" trick could be used for duplicate charts! Thanks Paul.

Wayne,
Yes that is exactly what we use it for. But again only for empty charts obviously.

I still want my two chart number system although I guess it could be hairy to actually design. TEMP123 for the initial phonecall, and then we can activate them for real once they actual live to get their butts in and establish, so then they get assigned the next real chart number AC456 or what have you. This way we can save all those nasty five cancelation S-CHIP patients to document their wonderful behavior all while not having them in the regular data. Or at least a way with a radio button to have their data included/excluded when reviewing the practice data. I can wish can't I? Have a great weekend folks...
