We started having some patient search issues with UpDox last month... slow and weird searches. If anyone is experiencing this, check "what's new" on the UpDox main screen. A significant change was made in mid November, and a preference has to be set manually. It made a big difference for us.

David, When I did that, there is a second box that can be checked: "Use local workspace database". The "what's new" instructions don't address that. Do we check it as well?

I don't know. I did just the local contact/database. I put in a call to UpDox earlier, but have not get a return call.

I spoke with Charlie at Updox. Just do the first one, local contact/database. It is beta but stable. The second one is buggy and probably unnecessary.

Last night I checked both boxes. This AM, Updox was slow to open, said "folders synchronizing", etc. I unchecked BOTH boxes, and now it is working a little better. Not sure if it is related to what John is referring to, or a problem with this new search method.

Everything UpDox is slow today, including login, whether box checked or not. I think it is unrelated.

Checking the "local contact database" has been mush faster finding the patient to import into--which is good. I was referring to displaying faxes, refreshing. The yellow "Working" splash screen shows for a long time, and sometimes finishes with the red "Unkown Error" message.

Just appeared in my Updox messages:
"We are currently aware of performance issues with Updox and are working to resolve to problem. We have identified the issue and our technical team is addressing it as quickly as possible. Thanks for your patience as we work to restore the system to full capacity.
There is a step you can take yourself that will help your performance. Go to the Tools menu, then My Profile, go to the Settings tab, and make sure the ?Use local Contact/Patient database? checkbox is checked. You will need to restart Updox after you make this change.
Again, we are aware of the speed of the system and we apologize if this causes any issues for you."
