Tried to install and it said the current installed SQL server was more up to date, so the SQL server express was not installed.
Then tried to run the database tuner without success.
Can anyone give me instructions on how to install correctly and run the tuner?
Has anyone used SBS 2008. Only read about windows server, but not small business server.
Thanks!

I have SBS 2008 as does my friend and a hundred other people on here. That makes no sense. I guess there are three things to try: 1.Install SQL Express by itself and then install the program. http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=218442. Stop the services on the other SQL. Don't know much about that. 3. Email my friend who is a certified expert in SQL. rrjegan17 AT gmail.com_remove

Do you have the exact error message? Can you do a printscreen or snippet and upload it here? The default SBS 2008 should not be a problem with 2005 Express.
1. Are you using SBS 2008 Standard or Premium? 2. Do you know what version of SQL Server is running? 3. What are the instances that are running currently?

Another note, just for those new to the raid server config. You will need to set up an internal domain, you do not need to set up an external domain. This hung us up for 2 days, so it may help someone else.

There is a DVD made by TrainSignal (they have many subjects) for SBS 2003, 2008 and I think 2011. These are IMHO probably the best instructions on how to set up these and a host of other things like SQL or Exchange, etc.
A Microsoft Certified MVP walks you through every phase. My recommendation is to watch the whole DVD at home, and then install using the DVD as your guide. It is also a source you can go back to over and over. It is invaluable.
While you can do this with GPO and other methods, it is really cool to set up a profile exactly how you like it, then save that to a temp profile on the server. In this way, each time a user logs into a new computer, the temp profile loads and is replaced by the new users saving you multiple steps. This sets up your links and paths, etc.
