I work in chronic pain management and I do not use E-prescribe as the majority of the prescriptions I write are for controlled medications. This requires a printed prescription with my DEA over each Rx. Even though I always have the ?include DEA on script? box checked, 50% of the time when I go to preview the Rx my DEA number is not there. Then, I must close out completely, re-open the write prescriptions window, and rewrite all the medications I am prescribing. Sometimes this will work. Sometimes I?ll have to do this yet another time. This has been incredibly frustrating! Has anyone else been having this problem as well?

you license number probably vanishes too. I sent in a bug report on this some time ago. I received an email stating that they had been able to repeat the problem and would attempt to correct the bug.

This bug has been around for at least two months. What I do besides being vigilant about it, is put my DEA number in the first line of my address. This insures it is always there.

Thank you! Putting the DEA number in the address is a great idea if you are a solo practice. Unfortunately, both my name and the Doctor I work with is in our address. Hopefully this will be fixed much sooner than later!

Good point. Here is a better workaround:

Go to the admin section and under "Set Prescription Format," you will see a DAW field and a Notes On All Future Prescriptions field.

If you put your DEA numbers in that field maybe 15 characters to the right, they will be listed every time. By offsetting them, you will still be able to write a message before them. You will have to be a little more careful placing the cursor with your mouse IF you want it to start at the far left.
