Hello to all: I need advice on how others are signing off & reviewing their labs. We just recently started with AC a few weeks ago and just got our lab interface up and working.
My problem today is when the provider is reviewing the labs (from the import tab) she wants to be able to go back into the chart and review the patients meds and chart notes before she signs off on the lab and makes notes as to what she wants the patient to do. AC won't let her have the lab open and the chart at the same time. She has to close it and then open the chart. Is there another way to do accomplish this and be able to view labs & chart at the same time?
Thanks,
Robynne Lacey , WA

Have her look at chart - if she hits first Sign Off button this will bring up an area to right comments, from there she can process orders, bring up scrip writer, write letter, send msg to staff member for call, recall, etc or she can hit Health Maintenance and fill in the ones that are accomplished by this lab, eg Lipid, A1c, diabetic kidney, etc.

Thanks, Steven. She wants to be able to view the chart and the labs at the same time and compare them and isn't able to do it that way. She can always close it unsigned and pop over to the last visit etc. and then go back and sign off and make any notes, etc.

I had the same issue when I started with AC. This is what works for me. When I am viewing the Inbox, instead of double clicking and opening the lab, I right click and open the Imports. Now I have the chart open and can move from the imports to past encounters and back. After reviewing the chart and labs, I sign off from the imports section of the chart by right clicking the lab and choosing the SIGN OFF option.

I click through and sign off on all of the reports that are "normal" or where the patient will be seen in the next few days. (I routinely have patients do their labs a week before their next visit to minimize phone calls for follow-up). I skip any where I need to review the chart. I then go back to those and do them chart by chart basis.
