Using Version 5.029 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

Sometimes, when we open an imported item in default application and make changes to it (like adding another scanned page), we cannot save the file. There's an error msg saying file is read-only or someone has it open. But no one else has it open. I can't pinpoint the circumstances of when this happens, it just does sometimes, 3-4 times a day. We have to save as another file, delete the imported item that can't be saved, and re-imported the newly saved PDF with the change. AC support says to contact Adobe. Has anyone else experienced this?

And we noticed it usually happens to 000004.pdf but not every time. It happens to many patient records, not just 1 patient, but not all patients either. And after we re-import the new file, we can make changes to that new item.

Serene,

Never attempted before reading your post, but just did using exact same software applications and versions except the Adobe 9 is standard not Pro, and I was able to open a document, attach a second page to it, save it and close it. I then went to a different patient, came back, opened it and there was the modified document in all its glory.

I have had issues similar to what you are expressing outside of AC with secured .pdf documents and have seen similar error messages. I suspect that if you were to look at the document security settings: From the menu bar (F9) on the document, select Advanced >> Security>> Show Security Properties, it may show that the file is protected from any number of changes and also shows the document restriction summary list. If it is secured, it would have to be unsecured before you'd be able to add to it. See if this helps.

i have been unable to do a back up on the amazing charts servers for 10 days. I have called tech help and they say there is a problem with their servers--anybody else experiencing this?
