Hey has anyone else had this issue? First, i know AC says you only need to run the Database tuner on the main computer (where database is) but every install/upgrade I have done, I have had to run it locally as well.

Second, I just came in this morning and for some reason both my workstations wanted me to run the tuner again. Doesn't make sense.

Thanks!

This can happen when for some reason it does not connect with the server - for instance server is rebooting or off - then it will try to connect elsewhere.

You shouldn't have to run the database tuner more than once. But, I am rather sure that when you run it "locally" you are actually running it on the server as it knows the path to the server database.

There are no databases locally.

Can anyone provide me with directions as to how to run the database tuner? I was told by tech support that running the database tuner would correct the misnumbered prescription renewals queue that has been a problem since the surescripts bug a month or so ago. I am on version 9, but don't want to upgrade to version 10 as part of this (our MU numbers seem to be working by and large).

I asked SIRI today how to run the database tuner on amazing charts and it didn't know!...

I am not sure why you are having a difficult time running the database tuner. Most upgrades require a database tuner given the upgrade now has new tablets, etc. and needs to match your older data.

Any time a database tuner is needed, it will be provided by AC to download along with the new program. I am not sure why, but it is recommended to be run from within the AC folder. You should also right-click on it and Run As Administrator. After that, it should be rather self-explanatory as to the next few steps.

HTH.

Hi Bert,

I'm not having difficulty running the database tuner, per se, I just don't know how to get started. I don't know where the database tuner is. Can I find it within the application, or do I need to download it? If so, might you have a link? I am not updating to a new version of Amazing Charts. I was told by tech support to run the database tuner in order to correct the misnumbered prescription renewals queue.

You probably had to download it when you upgraded to V6.0.9. It's always a separate download. If you can't find it, it should be on the website, but you may have to ask tech support where, since the prime download is 6.1.0.

I might have a copy, but since I just upgraded to 6.1.0, I think I trashed the older DB tuner so I would not get confused. I will look for it, though.
