Hello,
This is our 2nd week of AC and so far so good but having trouble with e-prescribing and renewals RX's. We have been receiving the renewals fine but if the patient doesn't have a chart in AC what is the process we should be doing? We don't have are PM software and AC interfaced yet so hoping this will not be an issue when it is.

I am assuming we should create a chart in AC but is there a quicker way to renew the RX without having to add the medication to the patients med list? This way creates a new encounter and has to be forwarded to the provider to be signed off.

Thanks,

Hi Robynne,
The patient will need to have a chart in AC first that includes the medicines that they are on. The first time you receive refill notices, you will need to match them up with the list in the patient chart. After that, you should be able to refill without matching to the chart.
Welcome to AC. You've made a great decision. Great EMR and a great support community.

Vicki,
Thank you for welcoming me and for the response. So another question for you. Is there a way to enter the medications besides in "most recent encounters"? When we do it that way we have to forward the chart to the provider as if it is an OV for the to sign off. Trying to avoid unnecessary things in their inbox.

Thanks again.

Main screen - highlight pt. name and right click - then choose prescribe, do it and then send to the pharmacy as a new scrip. Will not open office visit and count against you as office visit for MU.

Steven,

Does it get documented in the patients chart that we renewed the RX doing it this way?

Thanks,
Robynne
