Hi all,

Of all the MU requirements I thought would NOT be a problem, Core 4 (erx) was at the top of the list. I would estimate about 80% of our scripts are sent erx. But, when I ran the MU numbers, our percentage is about 34%.

I checked the numbers 2 days ago, and again today. Over that period the numerator increased by 77, the denominator by 146.

I believe the numerator is right, but the denominator is greatly exaggerated. I am wondering if ANY med transaction (inactivating, correcting a dosage, adding a med started during a hospitalization or given by another physician, etc) is included.

Anyone else noticing this?

Thanks. Gene

Anything written with the scrip writer or changed using the scrip writer but not electronically sent will count against you. You need to double click on meeds on main screen and add any meeds from other doctors, changes made, etc. This initially seems like a pain but I find that now it is relatively second nature. When I change coumarin Rosing my local pharmacies all know I will send them a new scrip with change of instructions with note to d/c old and hold.

Also, (at least on version 9)if you accept refills using the automatic refill request window, those prescriptions will not be counted in the numerator. You need to "deny and rewrite."

You need to upgrade as they found the bug during beta on 6.0.9 and fixed it so it will count the refills as electronic. To be honest there is no reason to stay on 6.09 and if you don't upgrade it won't fix the MU issues - and I am not sure that it will go back retroactively and count the ERx from 6.09 - you have got to upgrade to 6,0.10 if you want to make sure you can complete the MU by the end of the year.

Steven.
I count myself as one of the lucky ones who upgraded to 6.0.9 and had no issues with slowing. Although I doubt that going to 6.0.10 will change that, I have been reluctant to make that upgrade because of that fear. Based on your recommendation, I will do so.
If my eRx or II then slow to a crawl,....well, I know how to find South Bend.

MAGIC!!!!

Installation og v6.0.10 went quickly and easily on main computer, ran database tuner, then ran MU wizard and.....

Core 4 now passed! Denominator dropped from 2664 to 2082, numerator stayed the same.

Thanks Steven!!

We are on 6.0.10, but our numbers are still really wonky. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. No one seems to know why our numbers look so off...

Hi cells,

There are other threads on this, may want to search for them.

I believe that ANY med manipulation (Prescribe, activate, inactivate, etc) done from the right sided "Write Scripts" window is counted as a med rxing, and is added to the denominator.

The workaround is to do all but prescribing by clicking on the med list on the left side of the chart, and update/activate/inactivate from this. These are not counted in denominator.

Nusiance? Yes. Will you get used to it? Yes.

Hope this helps. Gene

The MU reports apparently will not go back and count the escripts done prior to upgrading....bummer. I have been escribing for at least a year but will not have this counted by MU.

Hi Leslie,

This was NOT my experience. All eRxs were counted, but denomimator was way too high.

As reported in post #36242 (4th post above this), our denominator dropped significantly as soon as we upgraded. Numerator remained accurate, counting all prior eRxs.
