Hello,
This is our first week implementing AC and I have been trying to find most my answers on the User Board but am unable to find some answers I am looking for. Not to mention time right now. Anyone who can give advice will be much appreciated:)

1. How do you document when a patient has been notified of lab or x-ray results?

2. How do you notify or document in AC that a patient is currently checked in where it will show on the schedule? We have tried different ways and can't seem to get it to work. Also can the schedule be color coded showing which patient is checked in?

3. How do we set up to manage prescription renewals requests electronically?

4.What is the difference between HPI & ROS? Seems a bit repetitive. Are we missing something?

5. How do we delete things from problem list?

Thanks again to all who respond. I hope to one day be an AC expert and will pay it forward.

#1 Documentation of that sort can be done many ways. Some will document it in a message and save it to the chart. Some will document it in an addendum and add it to the corresponding note. Some will import them into the chart. Whatever works best. Some also use a flow sheet.

#3 You need v6 and you need to sign up for ePrescribe. Then it may take a certain number of ePrescribed scripts to each pharmacy for them to do this electronically.

An HPI is just that, the patient's history of the illness that brought them to see you. A ROS is an organized review of questions pertaining to each organ system or at least pertinent ones. So you may ask, "Do you have headaches, any hearing problems, any issues with hypo or hyperthyroidism, any cardiac problems, etc. A review of systems insures that you have all the information required to arrive at a proper diagnosis as you may have looked past them in your HPI. If anyone wants to edit or add, feel free as this is probably not the best explanation.

#5 In the summary sheet at the top, you can inactivate, add, resolve or remove problems. If you remove them, they will be removed from the dropdown box in the chart. You will have to play around with some problems on a fake patient in order to get a grasp on how the two interact. It is best to resolve or inactivate and save removing for problems you didn't mean to enter.

Bert,
Thank you for the suggestions.

For #3 we do have Version 6 but after sending our first electronic RX we received a fax from Surescripts basically a welcome fax and it stated in this fax that we are not currently set up to manage RX renewals requests. They didn't mention why or how we were to change this. So it sounds like after we send a few escripts it will change for the renewals if I am understanding correctly.

Not to complicate your life at this early juncture, but many of us find UpDox useful. When I get a lab or x-ray result, I send it to UpDox. I then send it to the patient portal along with a note (for example "here are your lab results. Everything looks normal") and simultaneously save to the chart. This documents I sent it and what I said. UpDox can be set to notify me if the message has not been picked up in a week.

I think we are hijacking this thread a bit, lol. smile

Plus, you would likely get a lot more responses with a new thread.

Does anyone have any problem with eScripts after upgrade to version 6.0.x? Our eScript stops working right after we upgrade and AC couldn't figure it out? 95% of the prescripts status are verified but didn't hit the pharmacies and about 5% of the prescripts status are Success and make it to the pharmacies

I don't think the success status is very helpful. That just means it cleared NewCrop (I think)

It would be helpful if you told us your version. Also, tell us your version, not just 6.0.x? On the main screen, go to the toolbar at the top --> Help --> About Amazing Charts (at the bottom). Click this, and it will give you your version. From what everyone is saying 6.1.1 works much better mainly with prescriptions. Download it to a computer not on your network (you will need to enter your creditials for prescribing or restore your data). Then you can play around with it.

Anytime I have had problems with ePrescribing AC has been able to figure it out.

Make sure to go to: Toolbar, ePrescribing, Settings, Administrative Settings in the pop-up window, enter your admin password*, copy your verification code while you are there, make sure your info is exact under Part C (probably will be since some are going through), make sure your state is abbreviated, select Account Administration at bottom left. Check to make sure everything is correct.

* If the SureScripts window from above with the A, B, C, D, and E topics on the left hand side, looks like a text message, then you have issues, and it should be sent to AC.

Who is your ISP and what speeds do you have, especially upload?

Finally, pick your favorite pharmacy and ask them if they will let you send a bunch of scripts to them to troubleshoot, bearing in mind that it is ten cents a script. Of course, if they are not getting there, then no dime.
