Among the meaningful use criteria is a generated Continuty of Care Document.

Amazing Charts generates this document (under "Print Patient Instructions" - "Include CCD" is in lower left of screen) , but the default is to print it - The generated document, in reality, contains litte meaningful information. Rather than waste pages of paper with each patient, I'd rather just set drop down list to automatically default as "Clinical Summary for Patient, Export" (that is, export it instead of print)

Does anybody know how to change the default CCD setting from Clinical Summary for patient, Print" to "Clinical Summary for Patient, Export" ?

Thanks,

Can I ask what PHR you are exporting to? I have using the Updox patient portal to send this info to patients for the past year but I do not think that qualifies.

As far as I think I know, we are required to give patients the Continuity of Care Document only if they ask for it. Most patients don't (I give all of them an instruction sheet listing tests and meds) and I'd simply like to document that the CCD has been generated without generating a two page report on each patient, then shredding it - that is the reason I'd like to change the default setting in the lower left from from Clinical Summary for Patient, *Print*" to Clinical Summary for Patient, *Export*"

There is no way as far as I know to change default.

I thought that we have to generate a certain percentage of CCD exports in order to qualify and get paid.

I was informed on user board that it cannot be turned off, but it needs to be clicked off when you print a note.

reply for -"I thought that we have to generate a certain percentage of CCD exports in order to qualify and get paid." - I believe it is percent of patient who ask for and are given within 3 days.

I use the PRINT PREVIEW button and save it to a file via Adobe which is one of options in the print preview.
You can then print out at a later day if pt request's it. That way you have covered the meaningful use section.
